In our journey that we actually call life, we often encounter this quote. Funny thing about it, is that despite the fact that everyone keeps on saying it, this is where everyone is tangled.
How do you we leave the past where it belongs when memories that used to define everything about our happiness haunts us today?
How do we move on when we find ourselves going back to the same memory lane each time?
How do we forget when these memories have been for long the only thing that has been defining us?
How do we start afresh when we are so scared that building new memories will make the old ones lose the importance they have right now in our life?
Truth is with time maybe we realise that everything became memories because it was not meant to be.
Does it mean the person loses his importance in your life?
I don't think so. We would always look back and feel happy about those. That person would always be as important as he used to be for giving us that particular place. However, it won't either erase the "why" we had to move on. The "why" will become the specific reason of everything becoming memories. This is what will give us strength to move on.
And again everyone will be defining moving on. Maybe after all the pain we endured and all the scary thoughts we had about our past, moving on only means picking up all the broken pieces and defining ourselves again.
Maybe it only means finding us back and discovering who we really are without being dependent on someone or without being in that person's shadow.
Or maybe it only means embracing life in a different way by being grateful for having people accepting us the way we exactly are.
Finally, it is all about making peace with our past and starting all over again with a clean slate.
